How can i train my 1 year old yorkie to stay in his yard while outside but not on a leash?
My male 1 year old yorkie bolts out the door when its open and then when I& 039 m holding him he runs to other peoples yards i want to be able to just open the door for him to go potty without him running away to the neighbors

I have a teacup yorkie who is impossible to train!
I refuse to crate her, so dont suggest it. Any ideas on how to train her? Has anyone tried litter training thier pups? She is only 3 1 2 lbs so it is plausible....Thanks for all your answers, except of course for those of you who were rude. Everyone has a different opinion on how to train thier dog, so being rude and telling me I am wrong in the way that I want to do it, instead of just offering helpful insight, is really just pointless. To those of you that did help Thank you very much. I asked my vet and she suggested leashing the dog to you throughout the day, she said she has housebroken many adult dogs this way, and since gidget followes me wherever I go anyway, it just might work She also suggested Litter training.

Potty training my yorkie poo?
we got him a few months ago and we are not having good luck potty training him. he sleeps in a childs play pen and he dosnt go to the bathroom in there. when we take him out of the play pen the first thing we do is take him outside to go to the bathroom but when we bring him back in almost imedatly he poops on the carpet andd pees. what can we do we seam to have tried everything

Do you know how to train a yorkie terrier -- 11 months old?
I came home after 2 1 2 months assisting a friend with a finicky, ill mother who could do not so much actually could but liked to be pampered mother to a yorkie terrier. She was a gift from my daughter and son in law. I love her to death but she messes up. Actually, I don& 039 t know if she is confused from going out in the wee hours of the morning and evening only because I started taking her out during the day because I am at home all day right now. However, I don& 039 t plan to be here all day later. Could she possibly be confused by getting to know me and the extra outing during the day? She only went out during the day if my granddaughter was at home from school.Dog pet experts I need your help because I don& 039 t want my carpet and other surfaces ruined with feces and urine. Also, give me a tip on a good cleaning solution for the mishaps.Thank you and God bless for your input.

Yorkie too young to potty train?
i have a 3month old male yorkie who pees everywhere when i go to work and leave him in his play pen, he pees on the pads. When hes out of the play pen and around the house he doesnt pee on the pads i have around my house. I was reading other peoples answers and others were saying that my dog is too young to be potty trained. Is that true? if it it i should let it pee everywhere till hes older to start potty training him?

Why did my 4 month old yorkie poop in his crate today? We have been crate training him for 3 1/2 weeks...?
We& 039 ve had our baby yorkie for 3 1 2 weeks now and have been crate training him since day 1. He pooped once in his crate in the car on his way from the breeder& 039 s, but hasn& 039 t done it ever since. He still occassionally pees in his crate if we leave him for too long, but in the past month, he has never pooped in the crate. I came home today to find poop, not pee, a small amount of poop smeared all over the front of the crate, his blankie, his toys...The puppy himself was relatively clean compared to the mess in the crate, but I am totally perplexed Why would he poop today after so many weeks of successful poops outside?? He pooped this morning at 7 30 am, and he was crated at 10am. He usually poops once in the am, and waits until I get home and goes poop outside right after he eats dinner. Help Is this going to continue? I can deal with cleaning pee, but poop? ? Thanks for all the responses. I should add he only stays in the crate for about 4 hrs, 5 max...and I& 039 m not upset with him for pooping in the crate, but I& 039 m feeling more confused, and like I failed him, and messed up the process of crate training him or something He is the absolute love of my life, and makes me laugh all through out the day. He also just got neutered, and shots, and microchipped, 3 days ago, and this is the first time we& 039 ve left him alone for a few hours...

Why can't we potty train our yorkie????
here& 039 s the deal me and my fianc have a female yorkie that is 1 year old and she is so damn hard to potty train. We& 039 ve followed all of the steps but no luck. Its like she has add or something. We take her out and she& 039 ll just play as soon as you take her in she& 039 ll sh& $ wherever she pleases. Its like she know but won& 039 t do it. My girl called me an idiot cause I bought a book about yorkies but even in there are just the same steps as any puppy or dog repition and treats .. Please help me.
